I' ve always been fascinated by giraffes. After many angle view tests I went for this one. Hope you like it!
Modeled with Maya 8.0, rendered with MentalRay.The fur is polygonal (no Maya fur) I used HRDI/FG and Dof. The background is a photo taken during a recent trip to Borneo and it's been rendered within Maya. No Postwork, only contrast and color gamma enhancement with Photoshop.

Beautifully done - I like giraffes, too. One comment, though - It looks like a composite - unlike your other work I\'ve seen here. The giraffe looks somewhat pasted over the background. The leaves in his mouth are obviously so. But I couldn\'t do this work.......

Thanks jjdon:) The halo/glow you can see around the giraffe and the leaves is because of the shaders. The giraffe shader has a slight glow effect enabled. Than I used an high value for the specular eccentricity and a lower one for the roll off, that create a more \"velvet\" feeling for the textures but also the halo, up also to the lights position:) Cheers:)

Amazing!! I have seen some of your work, and all of it is incredibly realistic!
