You would need to do this in the UI code in openPipelineUI.mel - the line is:
$op_iconImage = `image -h 50 -w 415 -i $iconFile -bgc 0 0 0 op_iconImage`;
I would imagine this would require the rest of the Ui to be tweaked to accommodate the change too.
I will add this as something to be able to edit in the future Python version of OP.
