Howdy, just two things I've come across so far:
the new marking menu has the unfold feature removed which is I often use ( I have deleted the .mel file to revert this)
Howver now I cannot find the flip uv button that flips the uv shell along the u or v from its own axis (I found the flip along u or v button).
Cheers!

Hello. The flip -buttons have been merged into one and moved to left of the input field (left panel): The icon displays two triangles: one red. one blue. Clicking it with left click will flip your selection along U, and a right click will flip it along V. There are some other buttons that have the same two-click functionality in v1.3 so be sure to check the manual for more info on that. Have a nice day! Martin
Just to be clear: You deleted both texturePanel.mel and textureWindowCreateToolBar.mel, restarted Maya, and then copied over textureWindowCreateToolBar.mel? I can't say I'm surprised - Every time someone reports a problem it appears to be due to Maya 2014. I have no idea what could've caused this unfortunatly, or why the deletion of the texturePanel.mel -file didn't work. The marking menu isn't stored in any other script file other than texturePanel.mel :/
no i deleted both ... and didnt copy them back at all and it works fine .. very strange indeed ... hmmmm

Did you remove the one in the user scripts directory or the one in the installation directory? (The former overrides the latter). Correct path to the user scripts directory is: X:\Users\ USERNAME \Documents\maya\ MAYA VERSION \scripts\ ...on windows. I deleted the texturePanel.mel file from there and restarted Maya, and for me that reverts the old menu.

In the current version: no - you would have to remove the textureWindowCreateToolbar -file in order to revert.
