Mirroring Arms or Legs

Date:05/10/2016
Submitted by: lebnash1 lebnash1
Hello,

Is it possible to create the arms or legs modules mirrored? I need my rig to be able to flap its arms by simply rotating both shoulder controls.

Thanks for the reply, Dustin. Any idea, by what date are you planning to release it ? We do need it for future rigs only, as we are setting up the rigs now

This will be a free update. But due to the massive overhaul, it is not backwards compatible with previous versions of the rig so please be aware of this when planning future rigs.

Hey Dustin, I have already purchased the script. Will i get this update as well ? Cause this is a major problem faced by my animators. Not being able to mirror by just selecting the controls. So will i get this update, since i have purchased the earlier version.

Currently, you cannot do this. However, there are the companion scripts that come with the tool that allow mirroring of poses. I realize this is not ideal, especially when working in the graph editor, but I am planning on a major release in the next couple of weeks (hopefully less) that will have mirrored behaviour as an option for each module type. -Dustin

Would you happen to have a rough date for the next release?

Due to this being a major release, I have been putting in a lot of additional effort to add more features that would break old rigs. This has resulted in some major overhauling. I can't give an exact date because I am working closely with animators and other riggers who are hammering on the rigs. Their feedback is ongoing and is resulting in a large backlog of features and fixes that I am constantly adding. I am hopeful that the tool will be in a releasable state some time in July. I apologize for the long wait, but I want to avoid releases that break old rigs. As this is one of those releases, I am taking the opportunity to get rid of or improve legacy code. This will be by far the biggest update to the RRM, so I want to make sure it is as solid as possible and the core will be designed the best way possible for future iterations. -Dustin
