I find myself making that drag selection of attributes + entering 0 + clicking enter procedure a lot, because maya's reset transformation wont work on rig controls well and also makes an unwanted scale reset. so i figured if i had a command that will do it with one click or a hotkey i could save time+mouseclicks.
