How do I get this to look right with Mental Ray? Its rendering ver weird almost black in areas and grey in others. Every once in a while you will see a some blue... -

Nice shader. It works well in Maya Software. In Mental ray, like it has been said, there is a transparency problem. It has to do with the refraction. You may be able to tweak the refraction and get rid of the problem. If the surface you are using is flat, just get rid of the refractions altogether. -

it runs well in mental ray but I don't know why it's transparent when other object intersects. -

The shader looks good when rendered with the Maya software renderer but is very different when rendered with Mental Ray in Maya with the same shader settings. -

I love this shader but I can't seem to get it to scale down to the size I'd like. If I scale my model up its fine though but I need it really small. Too small and the shader looks like metalic paint chip on a bass boat.
