I messaged szabolcs szabados and he managed to get it to work, he was doing the spine diagonally as he wanted to use it for a tail, but the script isnt designed to work on curves that go in any direction other than in positive Y. Also if you could give me some info on the errors you are getting I might be able to help :)
While this seemed to have everything that I would ever want in a spine rig, and was simple to install and run, for some reason it messed up when I initially ran it. So I "undid" this script, and attempted to run it again. Now it just skips the first step of selecting the curve, asks me what I want to name my spine, and how many joints, then errors out... I think I may just have to play around with the code!
