Flipping joints and Referenced rigs

Date:10/31/2013
Submitted by: mtblanc mtblanc
Recently purchased this auto rig and I have to say, amazing work!
Super versitile and obviously done from an  animators perpective.
Ill be sure to write a review once a have a little more experience with it.

Anyway, I have been having a problem with getting weird roataions and flipping in elbows, knees and twist joints.
Some times it might even effect only one side, even though the limbs are mirrored...
Im wondering if I am doing something wrong or if this can be avoided.
Any help would be much appreciated with this.

Also, the RRM selector is awesome!! to the point you wonder what you would do without it.
I noticed though, if you reference in your rig to the scene, it doesnt recognise the naming anymore do to the namespaces.
Any chance of geting a fix for that, or is there a simpler way around it?

Thank you so much!
Guy

Hi Guy, Sorry about the flipping joints... could you email me the file? Dustin@rapidrig.com I will also fix the referencing issue. That shouldn't be a big deal :) Unfortunately I am on holidays until November 19th so I won't be able to work on it until then. I am really sorry for the inconvenience. Dustin

Thanks for understanding! And it is no bother at all, I try to support my tools to the best of my abilities and fix bugs as soon as I can. Unfortunately Maya doesn't run on my iPhone so I can't do much until I am back. And to clarify, if you could send me your Maya scene file, that would be helpful. You can send it without your model, I just need to see what the joints are doing. Thanks again and I will try to resolve this as soon as I get back. Dustin

Hi Dustin, Thank you for your quick reply. Just to clarify, do you mean to send the RRM mel file or the rig I'm working on? Anyway, sorry do be disturbing you during your holidays, have a good one! Guy

I just noticed this issue, too. I found it happening when I added roll joints to the limbs, and I was able to work around it a bit by going into the arm micro controls and changing the "roll percent" from .5 to 0. That seems to help especially around the wrist, but it doesn't fix the problem. That might help you narrow down the issue Dustin :)

Hey Alexandra, could you test the latest version and see if the flipping is still occurring? I believe this should have been resolved as of version 1.0.9. Thanks!
